PowerPoint for web can now add videos with closed captions

Unlock the power of communication in your PowerPoint presentations! Microsoft's recent update allows you to seamlessly add captions and subtitles to videos, making your content accessible and engaging for a global audience.

Follow these easy steps to enhance your presentations:

1. Open PowerPoint on your desktop.

2. Click 'Insert,' choose 'Video,' and select 'Insert Video from: This Device.'

3. Upload your video and click 'Insert Captions.'

4. Upload WebVTT format caption files.

Microsoft suggests using Notepad for this. For multiple languages, name files like 'MyClosedCaptions.en.vtt' for English and 'MyClosedCaptions.es.vtt' for Spanish.

To display subtitles, press the 'CC' button or use shortcuts like 'Alt+J' (Windows) or 'Option+J' (Mac), enhancing accessibility for diverse audiences during presentations.
